The Role

We're seeking founding engineers who will be instrumental in shaping the technical direction and growth of Mixpeek. As a founding engineer, you'll wear multiple hats, working across our full stack and engaging directly with customers in sales and support roles.

Key Responsibilities

1. Full Stack Development
   • Design, develop, and maintain our core video processing pipeline
   • Build and improve our API and SDK for seamless integration with various platforms
   • Develop and optimize our backend services for scalability and performance
   • Create intuitive front-end interfaces for our dashboard and demo applications
2. AI and Machine Learning
   • Implement and fine-tune machine learning models for video analysis, including scene embedding, face detection, audio transcription, text recognition, and activity description
   • Develop efficient algorithms for real-time video processing and analysis
   • Stay updated with the latest advancements in computer vision and natural language processing
3. Infrastructure and Scalability
   • Design and implement a robust, scalable architecture capable of handling billions of items
   • Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and minimal latency across our services
   • Implement security best practices to maintain SOC 2 Type II and GDPR compliance
4. Customer Engagement and Sales
   • Interact directly with customers to understand their needs and use cases
   • Provide technical support and guidance to customers integrating Mixpeek
   • Participate in sales calls and demos to showcase Mixpeek's capabilities
   • Gather feedback and translate customer needs into product features and improvements
5. Product Strategy and Leadership
   • Contribute to the overall product strategy and roadmap
   • Mentor and guide future team members as the company grows
   • Collaborate with leadership to define technical standards and best practices

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in full-stack software development
• Strong background in Python and experience with modern web frameworks (e.g., Flask, Django, FastAPI)
• Proficiency in front-end technologies (JavaScript, React, Vue.js)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization technologies
• Solid understanding of machine learning concepts, particularly in computer vision and NLP
• Familiarity with video processing technologies and related APIs
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
• Strong communication skills, both technical and non-technical
• Startup experience is a plus
